The Grand Tour

6 Times The Grand Tour Made Us Wheeze With Laughter

The suspense for Season 3 is killing us, so let’s take a look back at the first and second season of your favourite Amazon show, The Grand Tour. Here are ten of the funniest clips from the first seasons. Roll on Season 3!

6. An Electrifying Outcome

The first episode of Season 2 was one of many emotional up and downs. But the drag race between the three supercars, the Aventador, NSX, and Concept_One was hilarious. In particular, Jeremy’s reaction to the Rimac’s acceleration.

“That Rimac just F*cks off, I’ve never seen anything like that,” Clarkson exclaims.

5. You Sunk My Battleship

Top Gear had more than its fair share of explosions, so of course, The Grand Tour has some leg work to get to the same place. So what better way to catch up than with a good and honest game of Battleships. Using the mighty G-Wiz as ammunition, they ate through each other’s cars… I mean boats… with the better man coming out on top.

4. Jet Set

Cars and water go as well together as Richard Hammond and jets. So when a the trio set out to grab the fastest amphibious car in the UK record, Hammond sat this one out. The funniest part of this had to be what happened as soon as they turned on the jet during the video above.

“Starting jet.. Holy shit! It’s going round! Don’t look at it!” – Jeremy Clarkson

Unfortunately, in the craft above they only managed to grasp about 4mph, which just made this even funnier.

3. Sand And Sky

Hammond has a habit of… what’s the word…? Crashing. So when he drove a buggy through the dessert with more than a few scary looking and blind drops, only one thing could happen. And of course, it did. Once we found out he was perfectly okay and we’d sighed our sigh of release, we could laugh about it. But for a moment there, my heart stopped.

2. Left a bit

We’d found out that James had been in the wars (he fell over drunk) before he filmed this bit, so he was wearing a cast throughout the episode. This meant that when he was asked to reverse through the very awkward and tight roads of France, he had difficulty turning his head to look behind him. Hammond lent a hand by telling him where to go, but it all got a bit confusing.

“Uh, your right, my left as I’m looking in your right as you’re looking, so your right,” said James May to a blank faced Hammond.

1. Foggy Dogging

I mean, the heading says it all doesn’t it? On looking for his car in thick fog, Jeremy Clarkson bumps into a couple in a Toyota who are making the most of the poor visibility. With red cheeks of embarrassment he returns to the laughing film crew as the couple drive off with a hesitant wave. This had me laughing for far too long.

Alex Harrington

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
