Filming Spotted At The Eboladrome

Grand Godowski, who lives near the former RAF airfield at Wroughton near Swindon, managed to get a sneak peak at what’s going to be hitting our screens when The Grand Tour Season 2 finally arrives.

He said:

“They were filming high speed passes in what looked like a new Lotus and potentially a new Jaguar XK model along with a red car I couldn’t make out.

“They were driving pretty hard on a stretch of track they use for high-speed filming but not too fast for the camera crew who were following then round.

“It’s amazing to have the filming here and I always watch the shows when they go out. It’s just brilliant to see, though I’m still waiting for my invite for a closer look!”

So three cars, one Lotus, one Jaguar, and one he couldn’t make out. Let’s break this down.

LOTUS

The Lotus could be the latest Exige 380. It pushes 375hp and it the most hardcore Exige yet. With a 1057kg dry weight, it gives you a swift 0-60 of 3.4sec. Seems to me like it’s a bit of a monster!

JAGUAR

While there are no new XKs available, I’m wondering whether he saw an F-Type instead. In particular, the Project 7. This is a hardcore version of the F-Type. It’s the fastest and most powerful Jaguar yet with a 0-60 of 3.8 seconds and a top speed of 186mph. If you look behind the driver’s seat, there’s also the Sterling Moss inspired hump.

How badly do you want one?

THE RED CAR

Um… I’m hoping a Dodge Demon…

In all seriousness, I have no idea what it is – obviously. But in the comments below, let me know what you want to see them drive!

Alex Harrington

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: alex@grandtournation.com
