James May’s Pub Is Now Open – Go Have A Drink With The Grand Tour Presenter
As we reported last year, James May bought “half a pub” pub alongside another investor which he has been talking about on his website FoodTribe, shared with Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond, ever since. It’s called The Royal Oak, and sits in a small village called Swallowcliffe, Wiltshire, 2 miles southeast of Tisbury and 11 miles west of Salisbury. Find it on the map below:
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the pub has been closed for some time now, and only recently has it opened to allow for food and drinks to be sold to customers outside. But fortunately, now the UK has allowed pubs to open fully with customers now able to sit inside to eat, this means the Royal Oak is open. They posted the following to their website:
Welcome back!
We are delighted to be opening our doors once again and would strongly recommend that you book a table to avoid disappointment.
Please note that for the time being, the rule of 6 or 2 households still applies for indoor dining.
James May also posted on his personal Twitter account to mark the reopening of the pub. “The Roy is now open. #Cheers,” he wrote alongside a photo of him looking very happy with a freshly poured pint.
