Jeremy Clarkson Accepts Farming Champion Award: “I Don’t Want A Bafta Anymore”

Jeremy Clarkson has been awarded 2021 Farming Champion of the Year by the National Farmers Union, and now has sent a video to the company thanking them in an acceptance speech.

The Grand Tour and now Clarkson’s Farm presenter said the following:

“It feels really weird. I’ve never even been nominated for a Bafta in 30 years of being on television. And now I don’t want a Bafta anymore.

“I’ve achieved everything! This is great, honestly. I’m so glad so many people enjoyed the show.”

Clarkson’s Farm hit Amazon Prime Video to the praise of countless viewers as the ex-Top Gear presenter battled to create a successful farming business. He highlighted several issues that farmers in the country all have to fight, and in doing so, raised awareness of just how difficult it is to thrive in this industry.

Jeremy may describe the show as “a love letter to the British countryside”, but we hear see it more as a call to action as farmers struggle across the country. It’s pure brilliance.

NFU President Minette Batters said the following on the Amazon Prime Video show:

“When it comes to recognising someone who has done their best to showcase British food and farming over the past 12 months, no one has earned this award more than Jeremy Clarkson.

“It’s been such a challenging time for British farming over the past 12 months; our farmers have kept shelves stocked with British food and dealt with extreme weather. Now, they are battling labour shortages, supply chain disruption and rising costs, which are causing severe problems for essential food producing businesses. Through all this, Jeremy has been a vocal champion.”

A second series of Clarkson’s Farm is confirmed by Jeremy himself, and will likely be released on Amazon some time next year.

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
