Jeremy Clarkson Drives “Absolutely Fantastic” Classic Car For Upcoming Grand Tour Episode
After a week travelling through Poland, The Grand Tour has finally reached Slovakia after briefly drifting through Czechia. Here, they settled down to some violin playing and drinking, but before long the trio were filming yet again with Jeremy Clarkson posting a photo and video of the gorgeous car he’s reviewing for the upcoming Polish episode.
With Richard Hammond and James May no where to be seen, Jeremy was free to drive the rare and beautiful Skoda 1100 OHC Spider. He was very happy to be able to fit behind the wheel:

He also posted a photo moments before, where he described the classic car as “absolute fantastic”.

What you need to know about the Skoda 1100 OHC Spider
The 110 OHC Spider, or “Red Racer”, was released in 1956. The idea for the car was only imagined a number of months before this, but Skoda was quickly able to spin up production to produce this sleek, low-slung, high performance car.
And that it was, despite wielding only a 1.1-litre four-cylinder engine producing 85 horsepower, it could reach 124mph at full chat. This was a lot of power at the time, and the reason? high octane aviation fuel. Who knew Skoda used to be so cool?
But the corners were where this car really excelled, boasting a nearly perfect weight distribution when coupled with a 75kg driver of 49.7 to 50.3 percent towards the rear, and a low weight of 618 kilograms, it can dart into a corner at terrifying speeds.
Only two of these cars were ever built, with the body panels created from glass fibre reinforced plastic and a latticed tube frame welded from thin-walled tubes beneath.
This is a very special car, and I can’t wait to see what Jeremy does with it.
