Jeremy Clarkson Hints At The End Of The Grand Tour In Recent Interview On Clarkson’s Farm

Jeremy Clarkson has revealed in a recent interview that his Grand Tour co-presenters, Richard Hammond and James May, are yet to visit Diddly Squat Farm, Jeremy’s business that featured on his new show, Clarkson’s Farm. On top of this, he’s told fans that he’s very happy working from his farm compared to the lavish lifestyle The Grand Tour gave him.

During the highly praised series, Jeremy worked with his farm manager Kaleb Cooper, his partner Lisa Hogan, and a host of other people to show viewers exactly what farming was like in England. And it’s safe to say, it’s very difficult, with Jeremy making next to no profit for the whole first year.

But now it’s been revealed in an interview with BBC Radio Two’s The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show, that Richard and James are yet to visit.

During the interview, he explains that farming is extremely difficult and the return on investment is low, but he still loves doing it.

He said: “It’s incredibly hard work and the money is terrible, but I love it.

“There’s something about stomping around,” he continued.

Zoe questioned Jeremy’s experiences with farming further, particularly focussing on his Grand Tour and ex-Top Gear co-stars:

“Have Richard and James been to the farm? And were they at all helpful?”

“I’ve named one of the fields after James May but not in a good way,” Jeremy joked.

Zoe laughs at this, but the name is never revealed before he continues: “They haven’t actually,” Jeremy adds. “Well, no Richard’s been there. They’ve been here in the past I think.

“Well, they blew my house up so they were here for that. But, not since it was a proper farm, no they haven’t actually been.

“James is off filming one of his programmes somewhere and I don’t know where Richard is. I haven’t seen him in ages,” he complained.

“Anyone seen Hammond? Anyone seen them anywhere?” Zoe asked her listeners.

Jeremy adds: “Yes, if anyone’s seen Richard Hammond do let me know where he is. I miss him.”

The conversation then moves onto The Grand Tour, and how Jeremy is able to fit in the time to work and film the show that is currently confined to the country due to the pandemic.

“We did one in England because obviously we can’t travel anymore or not for the last year or so,” he says.

Despite this, the presenter reveals that he’s perfectly happy working on his farm and not travelling around like he used to:

“I’ve led an incredible life and I’ve been all around the world, flown jets and done all sorts of things.

“But, I’ve ended up basically mowing stuff and I love it. Just going up and down and up and down in my tractor. Honestly, I’m so happy,” he says.

This has obviously sparked questions of The Grand Tour’s future, with Jeremy, Richard, and James each now focussing on their own shows and businesses. How long can The Grand Tour run? Does this spell the end of the popular car show?
