Jeremy Clarkson Insults Brexiters During The Grand Tour Madagascar Special
Jeremy Clarkson and his co-hosts Richard Hammond and James May will return to the small screen for Amazon Prime Video’s The Grand Tour special after a long break due to the Coronavirus pandemic halting the filming of the show. But before Clarkson went to Madagascar, he could not help but call Brexit “idiotic.”
The now Grand Tour and former Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson has been outwardly open with his perspective on the United Kingdom’s resolution to leave the European Union ahead of this month’s return to The Grand Tour.
In the past, Clarkson was famously dismissive of Brexit and forced to justify his thoughts when he marketed the latest special, A Massive Hunt.

The series’ main adventure takes off when the trio goes to idyllic French Island of Réunion’s where creator Andy Wilman gives them a mysterious pirate code.
Fortunately, the three hosts have enough time to engage in a quick race before heading south to Madagascar off East Africa’s shore. Clarkson comments on the difference between France and Madagascar does not work particularly well for the UK’s decision to leave the EU.
When promoting the upcoming season, the presenter was asked to explain his views, he was initially hesitant to elaborate.
He shot back: “Well, isn’t that what I said in the program? Yes, that’s what I said in the program.”
Apparently, the star was happy to let the episode stand for itself.
To his dismay, Clarkson was urged to explain his opinions, after keeping mum since the announcement of EU referendum in 2016.
He chuckled and proceeded: “Yes that’s what I believe and that’s what I said in the program.
“We left the EU and we flew to somewhere that isn’t in the EU and there was a palpable difference.”
Madagascar, a developing nation, lacks the EU’s economic safety may have contributed to the country’s prevalent poverty, at least that is what Clarkson believes.
Given the massive improvements the trio had made to their cars, they clashed with Madagascar’s deteriorated and extensively eroded main roads.
Clarkson seemed to believe Britain may collapse into similar disarray after the Brexit implementation phase expires on December 31, 2020.
And Clarkson called Brexit “idiotic.” “I think you know my views on Brexit… idiotic. There we are.”
The trio skipped political discussions during The Grand Tour special and went directly to work to their usual four-wheeled madness.
The trio will encounter various travelling constraints and begin to change plans for the remainder of season four, but the third special The Grand Tour of Scotland’s Outer Hebrides is planned sometime next year.
A Massive Hunt will be released Friday, December 18 on Amazon Prime Video.
