The Famous Grand Tour Car ‘John’ Could Be A LEGO Set With Your Help
The Grand Tour, and previously Top Gear, has had plenty of memorable cars built by Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May. The Grand Tour alone has brought us a few already, including The Excellent, Clarkson’s MFB Bentley Continental GT, and John.
John was an off-roader, built by the trio as they attempted to cross Mongolia in the show’s third season. While it had its issues – a lack of windows, a rear suspension issue causing it to ‘hop’ up hills, and a fuse issue – the car carried the presenters to the town of Moron, completing the episode’s challenge.
It’s safe to say the car made a name for itself, with fans falling in love with the Land Rover-esque vehicle. Now, a design of the car has been submitted to LEGO, and with your help, it could actually be built and sold by the company.
CLICK HERE to go to the page where you can click to support the build, and when 10,000 fans have submitted their support, it has a good chance of being built.
Here’s what the designer said about the car and what the kit should include:
- Three Minifigures of James, Richard and Jeremy
- Functional steering (with the steering wheel in the middle, just like the show)
- Opening doors
- Storage for items such as drills, car jacks and English Army rations for food
- Sleeping bags, axes and water jugs hanging off the side
- A replica of the engine
- A camera to film the hosts
Currently sitting at 362 supporters, it has quite a way to go before it reaches the 10,000 supporter objective. But with 422 days for this to be completed, I think we’re in for a good chance.
So c’mon guys, let’s show some love!
