The Grand Tour is Now the Most Illegally Downloaded Show…In The WORLD
Honestly, this bit of news came as a shock. I’ve read about the number of illegal downloads for Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead, but I am genuinely surprised that The Grand Tour, which in essence is a show aimed at a niche audience, surpasses both the above shows in the number of illegal downloads.
As the Daily Mail stated that the premiere episode had been illegally downloaded 7.9 million times, Ep. 2 6.4 millions times, and Ep. 3 4.6 million times. British viewers make up the bulk of the offenders, making up 13.7 percent of the total (18.9 million downloads).

It is estimated that Amazon lost a potential £3.2 million in revenue on episode one due to downloads. MUSO, the leading data analysts of the piracy market released a statement saying “It is the most illegally downloaded programme ever. It is off the scale in terms of volume. It has overtaken every big show, including Game Of Thrones, for the totals across different platforms”
According to TorrentFreak, the most torrented show of 2015 was Game of Thrones, with 14.4 million downloads on its season 5 finale, whereas The Walking Dead pulled in 6.9 million downloads.
So…yay?
