Well it turns out that James May eating Nando’s is only a recent development. It became a Friday lunch treat in The Grand Tour office last year, with James describing it as a ‘posh Kentucky Fried Chicken’.
And what’s May’s favourite4 pie filling? No it’s not something fancy, this is Captain Slow we’re talking about. It’s chicken and mushroom. Easy. Another serious question that everyone needs an answer for: What’s James’ favourite kitchen utensil? It’s the moulie grater. Yep, I didn’t know what that was either, but a quick Google showed me a grater made up of a rater barrel with a handle to turn it. Ingenious.
But let’s get to the topic in hand. Did you know James May went vegetarian?
“I’ve tried veganism,” James says. “I managed to sustain vegetarianim for about seven or eight months before it made me ill. Veganism I think is really really difficult.”
“If I’m really honest, I’ve got quite a few vegetarian and vegan friends. I think in the future human kind will give up eating meat.”
He continues by saying he doesn’t think eating meat is sustainable.
“I wouldn’t eat my cat, why would I eat the cow? But I am weak, and a cheeseburger is bloody nice.”
