Former Stig Is a Stormtrooper in Star Wars Movie: Rogue One

From one white helmet to another, am I right? The Radio Times reported today that one of the Stormtroopers in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story was a former Stig on Top Gear.

Here’s where the story get a bit more murky, however. When someone says “Stig,” I immediately think of Ben Collins, who is arguably the most well known Stig. The story does not specifically state that the Stormtrooper is Ben Collins, so that leaves either the first Black Stig, or the second White Stig that was “born” in Bethlehem.

Gareth Edwards, the director of Rogue One, says, “There was actually a Stormtrooper on set one day and someone went guess who that guy is there? It’s the Stig from Top Gear.

It was the irony of him finally getting this film role and he has to wear this white helmet – I thought that was quite funny.”

So I’m going to use my Batman detective skills. “White helmet”…so not the Black Stig. That leaves Ben Collins, or the next Stig who was not as well known. Ben Collins is a Stormtrooper! Or the next Stig. I don’t know.
