The Best Way to Watch Jeremy Clarkson’s Top Gear Outside of the UK on a Strict Budget

If you’re a fan of the popular BBC car show Top Gear presented by Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May,  but you live outside of the UK, you may be wondering how you can watch it. Recently, Top Gear has seemingly disappeared from everywhere. It’s incredibly difficult to watch, or even find if you’re in the USA for example. And some fans of the show are even complaining that after buying it on Amazon Prime Video, it’s since disappeared and they’re unable to watch it.

Fortunately, there are a few different ways you can access the show from abroad, and in this article, we’ll go over some of the options available to you.

Watch Top Gear on BBC iPlayer

The best way to watch Top Gear is on the UK’s BBC iPlayer. Outside of the UK you’ll need to sign up to a Virtual Private Network, often referred to as a VPN. We aren’t sponsored or affiliated with NordVPN, but I’ve found these guys to be the best service out there and personally use it.

It costs around $11.99 a month, but if you buy a year up front it drops to $4.99 a month. If you buy two years, This drops further to $3.99.

Once you’re on Nord VPN, or the VPN service you’ve chosen, you’ll need to login to a server based in the UK, which will make it look like you’re actually in the country. This will allow you to log in to BBC iPlayer and watch Top Gear for the low low price of absolutely nothing.

Watch Top Gear on Amazon Prime

I can confirm that Top Gear is still able to be purchased on Amazon Prime. It’s around £8.99 per season in the UK, but in the USA it looks as though you can only pay per episode at a price of $1.99, which is quite expensive. In this case, the VPN option is still the more economical choice.

Other Streaming Services to Watch Top Gear on

There are limited other services that have the old Top Gear available to watch. Reelgood.com has some episodes, but even then you have to pay per episode and it can get very expensive. Other streaming services only stock the later episodes of the car show, with Chris Harris, Paddy McGuinness, and Freddie Flintoff at the helm.

Conclusion

In conclusion, if you’re a fan of Top Gear and you live outside of the UK, there are a few different ways you can watch the show. Using a VPN is seemingly the best option compared to signing up to the likes of Amazon Prime Video or buying each episode individually.

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
