The Iconic Top Gear Track Is Getting Turned Into Housing

Doesn’t anyone respect historical monuments anymore? Apparently not, as news drops that Dunsfold Aerodrome is going to be converted in a housing estate. The track is part of the larger Dunsfold Business Park which includes the airfield and a corporate park.

The Dunsfold Business Park includes over 100 businesses that employ over 800 people. The creation of the housing estate would create 1,000 new jobs, most likely related to the construction of the new homes. The site could possibly also include shops, schools, and churches.

The head of the local council, Councillor Julia Potts, says:

“I am delighted that the Secretary of State has granted planning permission as this development will provide significant benefits to the local community, of the 1800 new homes 540 will be affordable.

The development will also create over 1,000 new jobs and secure substantial financial contributions for much-needed infrastructure.”

There is currently no word on when the last episode of Top Gear will be filmed at the track.
