Top Gear’s Chris Harris To Compete In The Roger Albert Clark Rally Later This Year

The Top Gear presenter Chris Harris will be taking some time away from planning the next series of the BBC car show alongside Paddy McGuinness and Freddie Flintoff, and will instead be racing in the Roger Albert Clark Rally later this year.

Chris Harris has always been an avid rally nerd like most of us car enthusiasts, but his job as a motoring journalist before Top Gear saw him gaining experience on dirt long before he was on the TV. He was filmed competing in his BMW E30 M3 which was heavily modified for rally duty on his YouTube channel, Chris Harris On Cars, which you can see below.

Alongside rally, he’s raced in multiple racing series, including the Le Mans 24 Hours and at Goodwood Revival, but he insists that rally is still closest to his heart.

Now, in a Ford Escort Mk2, Harris will compete alongside co-driver Brynmor Pierce as they take on five days of rallying, starting at the event’s beginning, Carlisle Auction Mart on Thursday, November 25. The first three days will revolve around stages in the Cumbrian city starting at ‘Killer’ Kielder on Thursday. Friday will bring them stages in Chirdonhead, Falstone and Pundershaw in the middle of the forest, and as the weekend begins, teams will move over the border to Scotland to continue racing. The final two days are set in Wales, with the event coming to an end in Carmarthen.

We’ll be keeping up to date as Chris Harris lives his best life, and we’ll be sure to update you on the goings on.
