2020 Land Rover Defender Put Through Its Paces In New James Bond Teaser

When we first told you about the new 2020 Land Rover Defender, it received a lot of backlash regarding its apparent loss of strength over the original 4×4. Land Rover heard you, so to correct you (and to tie into the new James Bond film), they’ve released a video of what the cars were put through during filming.

It’s brilliantly done with some talented stunt drivers behind the wheels of these behemoths, but the video shows that anyone with a couple of feet can pilot the Defender to victory. It’s smashed against trees, thrown down drops, and even rolled over, and it still drives off with no care in the world. Watch the video below:

Okay, maybe this isn’t 100% trustworthy. Obviously these cars have been fitted with roll cages and special safety equipment to keep the drivers safe, and they’ve more than likely had a bit of bracing chucked onto the chassis to keep them going (Update: it was only a roll cage and hydraulic brakes). But it does show you just how capable these cars are as they rocket over uneven terrain and land hard on their suspension components at speed.

Try doing that in an old Defender then come back to let us know how it went. If you’re still breathing.

Drive safely, folks!
