Audi Driver Learns the Hard Way That Quattro Doesn’t Work Underwater

The Audi Quattro all-wheel-drive system is certainly advanced, but it’s not exactly submarine technology quite yet. An Audi A7 driver learned that the hard way when he tried to gun it through a flooded tunnel.

Take a look at the video below and you can see that the driver severely underestimated the depth of the flooding in the tunnel. That is certainly a mistake made far too often by drivers, as water depth can be fairly misleading. This Audi A7 driver likely will not be driving into a flooded area any time soon.

The overpass in Hungary had reportedly been closed off, so it’s unclear why the driver chose to run through it. The Audi was one of several cars that attempted to make it through the floodwaters, per reports.

Quattro was introduced by Audi back in 1980 with the Audi Quattro model.
