The Most Badass Fiat 500… In The World

The Fiat 500 is not a car that is savoured by petrol heads unless it has a sticker of a scorpion placed somewhere on its rear. Even then, the Abarth version still looks like the cutesy original that you can buy to match your shoe colour or the colour of the stone that matches the month you were born in. Yes, that’s apparently a thing.

So what can you do to make the 500 look and perform like something you actually want to drive? How about a widebody? Or shoveling the power unit from an Alfa 4C behind the front seats? Yeah… that sounds more like it.

This is where Gran Torino Engineering come in. To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Italian tuner Giannini, they’ve produced what you can see in the video above: A 350hp, mid-engined, rear-wheel drive Fiat 500 from hell named the Giannini 350 GP Anniversario. The widebody is carbon fibre, and the power is fed through a manual gearbox (that should please the purists), unlike the 4C that feeds it through a dual-clutch – also available if you fancy.

To match its ridiculous power to weight ratio, this 500 has been given drilled and slotted six piston Brembos at the front and four pistons at the rear. And did you notice those sexy looking Ohlins shocks popping out of the bodywork?

Want to know something incredible? 100 of these things are being built and sold to the public. Also incredible is the price at 150,000 Euros. But this is one 500 that you won’t see sat behind the local Starbucks that’s for sure.

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
