Ferrari F40 Burns To The Ground On Monaco Street

If you ask someone what their dream car is, it’s likely that this will be in the top 5. The F40 is one of the greatest Ferraris, no, one of the greatest cars in history, powered by a 2.9-litre V8 producing 478 hp. Introducing a turbo to the V8 made this car the most powerful, and fastest Ferrari at the time.

Being so highly strung, the engine needs meticulous upkeep, but somehow the one we’re about to show you wasn’t taken care of quite so well as it should have been. Captured on the streets of Monaco, this F40 burst into flames, which bellowed black smoke into the air. The fire was coming from the engine bay, but the reason behind it is currently unknown.

Burning dangerously close to an apartment building, the emergency services quickly arrived to extinguish what was left of the Italian supercar. Unfortunately, as you can see, the rear half is far from savable, however the rear wing did just about survive. With the engine burnt to a crisp, though, it won’t be getting anywhere anytime soon.

Thankfully, both occupants of the car got out and are perfectly fine with no injuries. They just had to watch their F40 burn to the ground…

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
