Ferrari Purosangue SUV Spotted On The Road Ahead Of Official Reveal

Last week, Ferrari announced that the production of the upcoming Ferrari Purosangue SUV will begin in 2022. And while we don’t yet know much about it, a recent video has finally given us a closer look at the car. While it’s still hidden beneath camouflage, we can see its overall shape and it’s safe to say it doesn’t look like any other SUV currently on the road.

Looking more like a lifted sports hatchback than an SUV, it looks nothing like its German competitors than come in the form of the Lamborghini Urus and Audi RS Q8. Its nose swoops downwards to what I expect to be a Roma-like front bumper design, and the rear doesn’t look like it leaves much room for rear passengers or luggage.

While we’re not too bothered about SUVs at GTNation, we can’t help but accept their place in the world as cash cows that help fund the more exciting projects. Although judging from Ferrari’s incredible, record-breaking sales last year of over 11,000 cars, I’m not sure the Italian marque needs it.

Under the hood of the Purosangue, we’re expecting a hybrid powertrain and potentially a V12 option after Ferrari promised to keep that engine layout for as long as it can. The car will also feature air suspension, all-wheel drive, and an all-new platform.

It may not be what we’re wanting to see from Ferrari, but at least we know they’ll do it right.

We’re likely to see the full reveal of the car later this year with customers taking deliveries during 2023.

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
