Hennessey Reveals The Ultimate Truck: 650HP 6×6 Velociraptor

I went to America last last year, and I was surprised at how big and grand everything was compared to my little home town in the West Midlands of England. So it’s only fitting that the SUVs and trucks of the country are equally as large to take up all that spare space on the road. Hennessey, the Texan tuner, took this to heart a few years ago. And now, they’ve revealed the third generation of their Hennessey Velociraptor 6×6.

Based on the Ford F-150 Raptor, this 6×6 has been tuned to create 558 horsepower over the original’s measly 450 horses. It also creates enough grunt with 672 pound-feet of torque to make the world turn. Of course, the main upgrade is the additional axle, which is powered and, like the other two axles, hung from “sophisticated” Fox suspension. The rear axles are dual-locking, and this adds 50% more grip.

Thanks to it having two more wheels, the tuning company has been able to extend the bed from 5.5 feet to 8 feet, a full 2.4 metres, and the truck now sits several inches higher than the original vehicle thanks to a 3-inch lift kit, 20-inch wheels, and 37-inch off-road tyres. Everything about this car is gargantuan, and John Hennessey, the man behind the company, is all in favour.

“Everything is bigger and faster in Texas and our VelociRaptor 6×6 takes this concept to the extreme!” he claims. “Building on the capability, power, and presence of our VelociRaptor truck, our latest six-wheel drive offering will delight customers across the US and around the world with its power and go-anywhere abilities.”

Surprisingly, this truck rivals the new Ferrari Purosangue with its price tag, coming in at $399,950. this includes the Ford F-150 Raptor, the parts and building of the truck, and a 3 year/36,000 mile warranty.

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
