2022 Ford Everest Released Date Revealed With Teaser Video

With the Ford Ranger being revealed to the world at the end of last year, Ford is keen to replicate its success by building an SUV version of the popular pickup truck in the form of a new Everest. It’s already been teased (video below), but now we know exactly when the car will be unveiled in its entirety.

On March 1st, the cover will be lifted. But if you’re sat somewhere in the United States at the moment, you might as well ignore this because it won’t be sold in the US where the Bronco sits at the top.

So, what are we expecting?

Well, with this being tagged as an SUV version of a Ranger, it won’t be surprising to see a very similar design language on both the exterior and inside the car. The Ranger looks great, so I’m expecting a lot for Ford’s first real step into the premium SUV market outside of the US. I do however hope that they bring out a more work orientated version like Land Rover did with the latest Defender.

While we know very little about the car, we do know that there will be a 7-seat version with an additional row of seats – something the Bronco doesn’t have. With the Ford Ranger’s wheelbase growing by about two-inches, it’s also likely the Everest will be slightly longer to accommodate this extra row. It’s likely to be powered by a diesel engine, but a V6 would be much appreciated.

The pickup also has a wider track at the rear, which could translate into more loading space at the rear of the SUV if this is carried over.

Design director Max Wolff has said that Ford has “created a sanctuary with premium appointments in which customers could feel relaxed and in control, no matter what was going on outside.” It’s safe to say that Ford is hitting premium level of quality. Ford’s “intention from the beginning was to communicate the capability of next-gen Everest with a modern, strong exterior design.”

The Ranger will be getting the Raptor badge later this month on the 22nd of February, so I’d be very interested to see if we’ll get something similar on the Everest.

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: alex@grandtournation.com
