2023 Ford Mustang Spotted With Possible AWD Powertrain

The potential new 2023 Ford Mustang has just been spotted in the wild, and while we may be overthinking it, the camouflage at the front of the car may hint at a severe powertrain change. With the current model looking to come to the end of its life cycle soon, it’s looking as though this could be its test-mule replacement.
As you can see from the photos, this spied Mustang has a spattering of parts from previous models. The spoiler is from the Mach 1, the wheels are the track-ready handling pack spec, and the rear brakes look like their from the sixth generation, with the caliper on the front of the disc and a separate caliper for the handbrake at the rear. It’s possible that this could be hinting at a different suspension setup at the rear.
If you look closely, you’ll spot wires trailing from the cabin to inside the car. This could mean a number of things, but this, plus the fact that the driver stuck his middle finger up at the cameraman, would suggest something big is going on behind the scenes. The cameraman also noted that he could still here the 5-litre Coyote V8 that is synonymous with the Ford Mustang.
The new Mustang will be revealed in 2022 for the 2023 model year, where we expect it to not only utilise a hybrid powertrain, but a possible AWD setup, too.
