Artic Trucks Announce New Ford F-150 Project

For those wanting to turn their standard road vehicle into a world class arctic exhibition automobile, then Artic Trucks is the place that you would go. They’ve been known to transform the likes of the Toyota Hilux, Isuzu D-Max, Nissan Navara, Lexus LX570, VW Amarok and even a Mercedes Sprinter, plus more, into snow bashing and blizzard conquering machines. With this already impressive catalogue, we were super excited to see that they have now turned their expert hands onto the Ford F-150.

Arctic Trucks are probably best known for providing the incredible Toyota Hilux vehicles used by Top Gear when Clarkson and May attempted to travel to the North Pole in a car – while Hammond had to make do with some dogs and a sled.. we know which travel option we’d have preferred.

Artic Trucks website doesn’t give much information away about their new project but they did have this to say:

F”hail the F350 as their toughest, smartest, most capable Super Duty ever. Arctic Trucks engineers apply their expertise to deliver a balance of outstanding off and on-road handling Arctic Trucks are synonymous for creating.”

The best place to go for updates on this new programme is the companies Facebook page. They aren’t giving anything away at the moment but we can see that the For F-150 is coming into being, and being tested, in Iceland – it is also owned apparently by one of the companies founders, Emil Grimsson – and he has been kindly documenting this via his YouTube channel.

The exact specification of Ford F-150 is the Lariat with the Ecoboost V6 engine. Modifications include 44 inch Nokian tires as well as a wide body kit – which we think looks amazing. Maybe surprising to some of you, but the Ecoboost powertrain in the vehicle will remain as stock. The new and wider fenders are the same as you’ll see fitted on Arctic Trucks Hilux AT44s but has been modified to fit the body of the F-150.

It is also believed that the company will be ditching the stock suspension for something a little more.. snow worthy – nothing has been formally announced on this yet but you can rest assured we’ll be updating you as and when we receive the information.
