Brand New 2020 Toyota Supra Completely Wrecked On Test Drive

When test driving a New York dealership’s brand new red 2020 Toyota Supra, someone recently crashed into a tree at high speeds, resulting not only in the complete trashing of the vehicle, but also some very serious injuries.

Whenever you get behind the wheel of a new and powerful sports car, there is always some sense of nervousness. Sometimes, that nervousness happens for a reason, it’s your body’s way of telling you “take it easy, be careful.”

If only the subject of this story would have heeded that warning, a lot of pain and suffering could have been avoided.

The accident happened only a mile down the road from Millennium Toyota in Garden City, New York. From what has been said on the fire department’s Facebook post regarding the accident, the dealer was sitting in the passenger seat, giving a test drive at the time of the accident.

The GCFD and NCPD-ESU had to extricated the passenger, believed to be the dealership employee, who was transported to the hospital for treatment.

Not only were there reported leg injuries, which you would expect from the grisly images of the car’s crushed front end, but there is also the added insult of the car barely making it down the road before this happened. You can even see one of the wheels hundreds of feet down the road in one of the fire department’s photos.

In the US a 2020 Supra has a suggested price of upwards of $49,900. The Launch Edition costs several thousand more, at $55,250. Regardless of which version this one was, it would have had a turbocharged 3.0L inline-six with 335 horsepower and 365 lb-ft of torque.

While Toyota has caught some flack for releasing an “under-powered” Supra, this proves that a 0 – 60 of 4.1 seconds and a limited 155 mph top-speed is still plenty to get yourself into a world of hurt.
