Bugatti Teases Next Hypercar – We Explore What It Could Be

Bugatti has been teasing us with a second, more track-orientated model for years now, and while we’ve been blown over by the Chiron’s records, we’d love to see what the VW-owned company could do if they focussed on other elements of performance. But thanks to a recent post on Bugatti’s social channels, it looks like something else could be in the pipeline.

Sat in front of a dark background and under a cover, the new Bugatti exposes only a fraction of its front-end. Even when brightening the image, it’s difficult to make out any substantial features, but we can assume that it carries the same large and iconic front intake from the Veyron and Chiron.

The next question revolves around what type of car this could be. With the Chiron taking centre stage after pushing through the 300mph barrier, it’s a possibility that Bugatti could be retiring the hypercar after a successful life and replacing it with something faster. But, Bugatti has said in the past that they’re no longer interested in being the fastest, so in contrast, they could be taking a step away from the top speed race and focus more on track performance, or even luxury or electrification.

The possibilities are endless, but what we can say with certainty is that it’s a low-slung sports car just like the Chiron and Veyron before it (although Bugatti have also mentioned the addition of an SUV to its model range – bleurgh).

The final possibility is another coach-built model like the one-off La Voiture Noire that was built for a customer last year. Carrying the pricetag of £12 million and based on the Chiron, it boasted huge performance nut the styling cues of the old Type 57.

Whatever Bugatti have in store for us, we know it’s going to be a pleasure to see it being unveiled. Have any ideas? Let me know in the comments.

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
