Elon Musk Isn’t Bothered If Tesla Goes Bankrupt
Elon Musk isn’t bothered if Tesla goes bankrupt according to the CEO during an interview with CBS. But keep on reading, this isn’t quite the full story.
He states the following:
“If somebody comes and makes a better electric car than Tesla, and it’s so much better than ours that we can’t sell our cars and we go bankrupt, I still think that’s a good thing for the world.”
So while this sounds like a careless quote, he is simply stating that he cares more for the wellbeing of the planet than his own business, and would sacrifice his income if it means electric cars were still being used. However, Tesla employs 45,000 people according to Electrek, who each have bills and a need for an income who may argue with this.
Staying alive seems to be a constant struggle with the Silicon Valley car company with it only returning a profit recently for the first time in two years and the company reportedly owing nearly $9 billion. With more and more EVs coming to the market with positive reviews such as the Jaguar iPace, Tesla could be in for a rough future.
We respect Elon for trying to change the world, but he needs to remember that people and their families are relying on him to live. Let’s hope he remembers that.
