FCA Head Of Design Ralph Gilles Hints At Future Design Idea For Dodge Models

Ralph Gilles, Head of Design at all things FCA, has posted a render to his Instagram account hinting at the future of Dodge and its design language. Like almost everyone else across the globe, him and his team are self-isolating and working from home, but this hasn’t slowed them down.

He explains in the caption that they’re still having “virtual design reviews”, and while he vows to “NEVER show future product on social media”, he’s making a slight exception with the following render:

This design was rejected, and therefore sharable, for one simple reason: “Because the designer decided to make the yellow spoiler guards a permanent part of the theme.”

Obviously they’re having a laugh over the latest design trend of keeping the yellow splitter protectors that come with new Dodge models, but this design also gives us an indication of where Dodge design could be going in the coming years with narrow headlights, a shark nose-style front bumper, and squared-off lines that run down the whole side of the car. Of course, take this with a pinch of salt.

So, do you like it? Let’s start a discussion in the comments about what you want to happen to the Charger and Challenger over the coming years, as they’re both in need of a refresh. Go for it, gang…

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]

  1. I’ve heard they want to make Charger and Challenger on the Maserati Ghibli platform. I think that is too much!
And this render looks like back in 1998
