John Hennessey has a habit of giving things with four wheels incredible amounts of power. He took a Lotus Elise, gave it 1,200hp and a wider, long body and boom! He produced the Venom GT, the fastest car in the world. Since then, he’s taken all sorts of vehicles and added ridiculous amounts of power with the help of his Texan tuning company.
It sounds as though they’re returning to their roots with another British sports car going under the knife – this time, the McLaren 600LT. Straight from McLaren, the car makes 592hp and 457 lb-ft of torque. That’s more than enough already, with it able to rocket to 62mph in just 2.9 seconds. Top speed? 204mph. But that isn’t enough for John Hennessey. No way.
He’s proposing an increase of over 200hp to 800hp. Other details are hard to come by, but like every other 800hp creation, it’s been given the HPE800 moniker alongside its brothers and sisters: The Jeep Grand Cherokee, Dodge Charger Hellcat, and Cadillac Escalade.
The original car costs $240,000 from McLaren, so with the Hennessey package, it will more than likely increase to over $300,000. So if you didn’t quite make the cut for the track monster Senna, this may do you perfectly. It might even put the Senna to shame because like they say, if it’s not fast enough, add more power. That’s the Hennessey way.
