Chat show host and major car and motorbike enthusiast, Jay Leno, has revealed that he is recovering in a burn centre after suffering serious injuries to his face when one of his cars unexpectedly burst into flames.Leno was in his Burbank garage on Saturday when the incident happened and sources close to Leno have explained that the flames burnt the left side of his face but thankfully did not injure his ear or eye. The chat show host was taken to Grossman Burn Centre by ambulance where he is still recovering.
“I got some serious burns from a gasoline fire. I am ok. Just need a week or two to get back on my feet,”
The incident has, of course, led Leno to cancel his upcoming appearances including one at The Financial Brand Forum conference in Las Vegas on Sunday. A report from People shared what the event organisers wrote to those attending the conference, the said:
“His family was not able to provide us very many details, but there was a very serious medical emergency that is preventing Jay from traveling.
“All we know is that he is alive, so our prayers go out to him and his family tonight.”
Leno has been a major car and motorbike enthusiast for a number of years now, with a huge collection of hundreds of rare vehicles as seen on his car show “Jay Leno’s Garage” on CNBC which has been running since 2015.
Over more recent years, Leno has become more well-known for his place in the motoring world than his long, successful career in TV. Leno’s extensive collection includes many modern cars, vintage motorbikes, classic cars, and pre-war vehicles.
