Lamborghini To Rekindle The Countach Name In New Supercar – Price And Chassis Revealed [Exclusive Rumour]
Lamborghini has released a trailer teasing a new supercar with a familiar name: Countach. This ’70s supercar became a poster car to every young petrolhead with it being imprinted into our minds forever. And now, it’s coming back. But is it all good news?
The trailer can be seen below, with the phrase: “The new Lamborghini Countach is coming.”
We make dreams come true. We did it with the classic Countach in the 1970s. And we’re doing it again. The new Lamborghini Countach is coming. #Lamborghini #Countach pic.twitter.com/nXctgIuyqe

This is rather special because Lamborghini has never made the same model twice, apart from a one-off Miura tribute in 2006. The Countach was replaced by the Diablo. The Murcielago came next, and most recently, the Aventador.
Price and Chassis
As we’d expect, this Lamborghini will be powered by a hybrid V12 powertrain, but a source of ours has given us even more information. However, this must be taken with a pinch of salt.
According to our source, who was approached by Lamborghini to purchase the car, it will cost $3million and will be based on the Lamborghini Aventador with the same transmission.
If this is true, it could be a bit of a disappointment, and arguably a bit of a cash grab. But, let’s give the Italian marque the benefit of the doubt. It will spiritually be a succour of the Countach, housing a mid-mounted V12. Let’s hope it has a similar character. Although, let’s face it. It’s a new car and because of that will have all the mod cons that we’ve come to expect from the VW Group.
The Countach was crap, but because of this, brilliant. So I’m sat here hoping this new version will be a little bit crap, too. Because then, and only then, it will be brilliant.
