Mercedes Having Fun with Desparate F1 Drivers looking to Fill Rosberg Spot
In a bit of hilarity after Nico Rosberg’s surprise retirement last week, we have a Twitter exchange between Red Bull’s Max Verstappen and Mercedes AMG F1.
In what I’m sure is a joke (probably with some truth thrown in), Verstappen mocks up a call from Toto Wolff, head of Team Mercedes, presumably to inquire about the now vacant spot on the team:
@MercedesAMGF1 @F1 @MercedesBenz @MercedesAMG should I pick up guys?? pic.twitter.com/fF3f7oSkzL

The true star of this exchange, however, is Mercedes with their fantastic response:
@Max33Verstappen @F1 @MercedesBenz @MercedesAMG Just returning your call. Maybe talk later. Got someone to speak to first… pic.twitter.com/q5JzgXp7Uy

David Coulthard, if you fans recall, had a memorable appearance on Top Gear when he shot Jeremy Clarkson “in the plums!!!!” with a bunch of paintballs from his F1 car in an attempt to make some automotive art (series 14, episode 5). On a side note, that is one of my favorite episodes, so if you haven’t seen it yet, I implore you to give it a watch.
