New Corvette Z06 Spotted Alongside Ferrari 458 And Porsche 911 GT2 RS

We’ve heard the rumours that the new Chevrolet Corvette C8 Z06 is just around the corner. In fact, we’ve already spied on on the back of a truck out on the road. But now it looks like Chevy is definitely up to something with what seems to be the new Z06 out on the road alongside the Ferrari 458 and a Porsche 911 GT2 RS.

The video below shows it wearing full camouflage with extra body cladding to hide its widebody looks and Z06 changes, but it’s clear to see that the vehicle has flared arches to hide wider wheels, tyres, and bigger brakes. It’s also believed that the new car will be powered by the 5.5-litre naturally-aspirated flat-plane crank V8 from the C8.R, producing around 500 hp and 480 lb-ft in its racing regulated state.

As to why it’s been seen with the Italian and German accompanying supercars is unknown, but we can only guess that they’re being used as baselines to compete against, despite the 458 being an older model of mid-engined Ferrari. The 458 stands no chance against the mighty Chevy, but the GT2 RS is in a whole different kettle of fish. The American company is going to have to work hard if it wants to compete with such a machine. We can only cross our fingers.

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
