Nissan Z Receives An Aggressive Widebody For SEMA Show Reveal

It’s no secret that the sports car as we know it is dying. Cars are getting pulled out of Europe because of strict emissions law, sales are dropping across the board, and the electric car is gaining popularity but with a price that’s out of reach for most of us who don’t want to put tens of thousands of coins on a car.

Fortunately, manufacturers like Toyota are creating cars like the GR Yaris and GR Corolla, which boast a lot of fun but in a more economical package. But Nissan is promising something very interesting in the form of the new Z. Unfortunately, even this isn’t coming to Europe, but despite this a designer by the name of Jon Pumfrey, or DomesticMango as he goes by on social media(dm_jon on Instagram), is doing their best to make it more difficult for the world to relinquish the sports car.

He’s taken a mere mortal Nissan Z and added a widebody worthy of the gods that widens the track, and gives the car more aggression that it has the right to have. And while it’s only a render now, Jon is looking for a shop to create this race-ready beast for SEMA show next year.

Starting at the front it has an aggressive nose with NISMO red accenting on the lower splitter, the nose cone is angled like that of an old shark nose BMW, and the widebody arches reach further forward to match the original bumper line. This width is reflected in the rear with muscled and angular arches allowing for plenty of rubber, and at the very back of the car, the width is only emphasised by a huge wing.

It’s a seriously good looking car with plenty to look at, and almost reminds me of a racey 300Z – something that the original designer of the car was hoping to come through.

I can’t wait to see this car when it eventually hits SEMA. Hopefully GTN will be there to bring you some content from the show in person.

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
