Ram Unveils Revolution Electric Pick-Up Concept Aiming For 2024 Release

Ram has announced its entry into the electric pickup market with the unveiling of its Revolution concept vehicle at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.

Although the Revolution is still branded as a concept, the highly detailed renders and amount of information available indicates that it might actually be quite close to production stage.

The Ram Revolution is based on a new modular body-on-frame platform for electric vehicles called STLA, which positions the battery pack under the body and protects it with panels. Ram claims that the 800-volt battery pack will fast charge at a rate of 350 kW, though the actual pack capacity has not been disclosed. The Revolution will feature two drive units and all-wheel drive, though no power or torque figures have been provided just yet.

The Revolution is a full-size truck, featuring a spacious passenger compartment with a large glass roof and no B-pillars. The vehicle also has a powered midgate that can be lowered and, combined with a reconfigurable interior and a pass-through into the front trunk, can carry items up to 18 feet long. The midgate also includes jump seats, which serve as a third row of seating for additional passengers. The interior of the Revolution features a unique steering wheel and 28-inch touch-sensitive infotainment screen.

While the Ram Revolution is expected to debut as a 2024 model, it is unclear whether such a large and powerful electric vehicle will be a viable and sustainable option. The market for electric pickups is growing, with companies such as Ford and General Motors already producing or preparing to produce their own models. However, the environmental impact and resources required to manufacture and operate such vehicles remain a concern. Despite these uncertainties, it is clear that Ram is committed to staying competitive in the market by introducing its own electric pickup.
