Sung Kang Reacts To Fast & Furious 9 Trailer On Latest Podcast And Talks Reuniting With Cast

It’s been a long time since Sung Kang was part of the Fast And Furious family since his character left the series after the sixth film. His character, Han Seoul-Oh, was killed by big bad Deckard Shaw, but the trailer for Fast 9 confirms that he actually wasn’t killed, instead just waiting for the right time to pop back into Dom Toretto’s “clubhouse”.

Sung discusses his feeling of reuniting with the cast after such a long time in his latest podcast for Sung’s Garage where he’s accompanied by faceless friend Racer M in his highly modified Nissan 240Z. In the podcast, he also watches the trailer to the new film for the first time and they discuss what it was like to keep his part in the film under wraps until now.

“I think, one of the things that really helped was that I cut my hair,” Sung says to Racer M. He goes on to explain how Han’s hair was so “iconic” to the character and that’s what usually drew the attention. While in London, he was able to stay under the radar with his short hair, plus he “blended in” with the large Asian population in the city.

Later in the podcast he talks about what it’s like to work with all of the great actors in the films plus the incredible direction of Justin Lin. His enthusiasm and love for his colleagues and film making is obvious, and the way he discusses his feelings emphasises his modesty. We can’t wait to see Han kick some a** in the new Fast and Furious, and will look forward to whatever’s coming next on his own website, Han’s Garage.
