Tesla Model S Plaid Returns To Nurburgring With Huge Rear Diffuser
Last month we shared with you the spotting of a Tesla Model S testing at the Nurburgring. Since then, it was revealed that it was the test car for a new powertrain named ‘Plaid’.
Today, the Model S returns to the Green Hell for what we expect to be more testing, but this time a huge rear diffuser has been fitted to its rear bumper alongside the wider arches and the addition of a spoiler.
With Tesla setting its sights on the Porsche Taycan’s recent Nurburgring record, there are already whispers of this new Model S already beating its time, but until the track has officially released data, we cannot confirm this.
Tesla has previously stated that a faster time than 7:05 can be reached with the use of this new model variant, so we’re eagerly awaiting any further news. Until then, we can be sure that this Plaid Powertrain will be seen in future versions of the Model S and X, and more than likely the Roadster 2.
