This Chevrolet Corvette C8 SUV Is The Worst Thing To Happen To The Industry

The new Corvette C8 Stingray is a beautiful machine, boasting excellent performance and a low, low price of just under $60,000. Remarkable. But what if Chevrolet, like every other carmaker in the world, turned their beloved sports car into an SUV? Well, this.

I hate to say it, but this Corvette SUV would act as a brilliant cash cow for the American company because, as we all know, as horrible as these things are, there seems to be a large crowd of people who would buy them.

YouTuber TheSketchMonkey, has taken pen to paper (or mouse to screen?) and created a rendering of what the C8 would look like it was built to be an SUV. The ground clearance is higher, the roofline carries on to the rear of the car, and an additional two doors are added for passengers. Where’s the engine, you ask? Um. Not sure.

When you see the C8 like this, it’s very difficult to differentiate it from the endless number of SUVs that are scattered throughout the market. The front headlight design is really the only recognisable feature of the car, the rest of its gorgeous lines have been blended into the high sides of the new body shape. I bet it would be an EV, too.

This may hurt to watch, but you’ve got to admit that an SUV would really help Chevrolet’s bottom line, which would, in turn, mean they have more money to mess about with the faster stuff. I don’t know about you, but I’m fine with that.
