This Hummer H1 Drift Build Is A Middle Finger To The EV Future

Hummer has drastically changed its branding over the last few years with it now swerving away from behemothic diesel engines to all-electric powertrains. But while it’s all well and good creating an all-electric truck in the shape of the Hummer EV, it’s not as sustainable as it seems.

In fact, it’s potentially more eco-friendly to buy an old Hummer H1 with the torquey Duramax diesel engine and a 5-speed Allison transmission conversion to withstand the power from a good tune. Well, that’s if you can get a hold of one. The H1 Alpha was only sold for a short period of time so is incredibly rare for those wanting to get their off-road on.

But if you were to get your hands on one, may I offer an image to turbocharge your imagination?

This render is put together by rostislav_prokopa talented artist who has amassed a large following on Instagram thanks to his weird and wonderful designs. And while you’d expect him to create the ultimate off-roading machine with huge off-road wheels and gas-guzzling turbochargers, rostislav_prokop has removed power from the front wheels, slammed the truck to the floor, and given it enough power to induce some oversteer.

Yes, if you hadn’t guessed, this is a drift machine with a body kit reflective of the sheer power it likely possesses. From a front splitter hung below bash bars to a rear spoiler worthy of a drag car, this Hummer is ready for to give its all for Formula Drift. And while it’s not exactly what we’re used to, I’d love to see it shred some tyres.
