This Is What The New Toyota Supra Should Have Looked Like
The new Toyota Supra‘s look is a bit like Marmite, you either love it or you hate it. Fortunately for you haters out there, professional car designer Giulio Partisani has created some renders of a radically different Mk5 Supra for you to feast your eyes on. Giulio Partisani is the lead designer for Honda R&D so you know you’re going to be in safe hands here.
Before Honda, Partisani has worked as a designer for the likes of Bertone, Ferrari and Jaguar–Land Rover – it’s a pretty impressive CV (resume for our friends across the pond). His Mk5 Supra has clearly taken inspiration from the Mk4 model, which we can all agree, looks totally different to the current Supra available today.
With Partisani’s designs, we’re loving the long hood and the Mk5’s rounded and low cabin along with the sharp LED headlights. We’re also very fond of the retro elements to the renderings which include huge rear haunches, dual tailpipes, a large fixed-wing and horizontal tail-lights as well as a diffuser added into the mix too.
Apparently, Partisani was inspired by the Mazda RX Vision when he was creating his dream Supra and the resulting designs reveal a car that is both modern but also the perfect tribute to Supra’s of old.
We know the new Supra may not be to everyone’s taste, but it is important to remember that this is just the start of a new Supra family and the future will bring new variants and styles. Keep an eye out and we’ll keep you updated right here at Grand Tour Nation.
