This VW Gold Has TWO Engines and 1600HP

There are plenty of fast cars out there. To be honest, fast cars have now become a little boring because with Lamborghinis and Porsches setting record lap times every week and Ageras setting speed records each time you open your eyes,  it becomes the norm.

What isn’t the norm is a VW Golf with 1,600hp and two engines. And this isn’t two engines stuck together to make one big engine, it’s one engine in the front and one in the back. The two VR6 engines both have two turbos as well. It’s mental.

Each engine can be controlled individually with two separate gearboxes. This means that at the start of  drag race, the car can perform both a front wheel and rear wheel burnout. It really is a view to behold.

On the half mile it manages 183mph and runs a flat 9 in the quarter mile, and these are both on low boost. The driver of this insane build states that the car actually scares him, hence the low boost settings. But who can blame him? Not only is it a scary car, but it’s a on-of-a-kind build which he’s been working on for years. The last thing I’d want to do is ruin such an interesting and unique car.

The world needs more cars like this, but more importantly, more people who want to build them.

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
