Tom Cruise’s Nissan 300ZX Racing Car Up For Auction

We all know Tom Cruise as one of the most successful actors in Hollywood and it is no secret that he is a bit of an adrenaline junkie.

Cruise has been known to carry out all of his own stunts for his films and has had a flying licence since 1994 so can fly jets and helicopters. So, it was not really a surprise that he reached 181 mph whilst doing 24 laps in a Red Bull F1 car a few years ago, blowing retired F1 driver David Coulthard out of the water.

However, what a lot of people don’t know is that Tom Cruise was actually a racing driver in the 1980s. He drove for Paul Newman and Bob Sharp’s team in various Sports Car Club of America races. His car was a Nissan 300ZX and what is even more exciting is that you could now own the exact same car.

The car is being sold via auction on Bring a Trailer and is currently at $6,700, however it does still have roughly six days left to go. It is thought that the car has been kept in a scrapyard for a number of years before the current owners acquired it. It was repainted in 2006, has 15″ alloy wheels and has the red, white and blue Canon/Planters livery.

The car has reportedly had Jim Wolf Technologies camshafts fitted alongside the 3-litre V6 engine, as well as an exhaust and ignition system. The interior has the red and black vinyl 3A racing bucket seats with multi-point harnesses.
