Toyota Has Built A 1,000HP Supra For SEMA 2019
Toyota is once again reminding us that the new Supra is easily as good as the old one by adding four-figure levels of power to its BMW straight-six engine.
The B58 turbocharged straight-six has been taken under the wing of in-house Toyota tuners for a reveal at SEMA 2019 Toyota stand where it will be able to produce at least 1,000bhp – not bad for a car that has an advertised 335bhp from the factory.
These unspecified upgrades will allow the engine to not just produce stupid amounts of power, but will let them rev higher, far above its stock 7,000rpm. Stronger internals will also more than likely have been used alongside a larger turbo and a less obstructive exhaust system.

The car is being revealed later today at 10:00 Pacific Standard Time alongside a host of other reveals such as a 2020 GR Supra ‘Premium’ model, pro-tuned Toyota Supras from other tuning houses, a GR Supra pace car, some TRD-spec Camry and Avalon models, and a number of GR Supra racing cars. Toyota is going all out on advertising the Supra, especially as sales number are expected to be lower than estimated.
Now, enough of these 1,000bhp Supras in shows, I want to see some on the road.
