Watch This Tiny Supercar Destroy A Hill Climb
There’s something about small, rear-wheel drive cars that are pleasing to an enthusiast. They’re light and agile, turn on a dime and you can rag them out of any corner and still expect to live. That’s why people love the Mx5 Miata. It has all the cornerstones of a sports car. But what if you wanted those characteristics but in a supercar-esque package which you could show off to your mates down at the drive thru?
Well, you’d go for the Autozam AZ-1. It’s a mid-engined Kei car with the need to be a supercar. It has gullwing doors and a turbo. It was capable of some look-twice figures, but from the Suzuki factory where it was produces, it only made 63 hp and 78 lb-ft of torque. Not too shabby when you take into account its low weight at 720kg.
You can see just how potent it was by checking out the YouTube video above! It’s even capable of a little oversteer, and that turbo flutter is a thing to live by.
