Koenigsegg Mission 500 Will Hit 311mph: Reveal At Geneva

With Bugatti posting a 304.77mph (unofficial) record becoming the fastest production car in the world, both Koenigsegg and Hennessey are hot at its heels with cars on the way that can, like the VW-owned company, break the 300mph barrier. Koenigsegg has already released its Jesko which the company boasts will breach 3 tonnes, but they’re promising something very special for the next Geneva Motor Show.

Named the Mission 500 concept, the Swedish company has its sights set for 500kmh (310.6mph), wiping the Chiron Super Sport 300 off of its throne if it’s successful – that’s if we even class the Bugatti’s record as trusted thanks to it only achieving the speed in one direction. It’s not confirmed if this concept will be based on the Jesko, but it will more than likely be the Jesko 300 car that was mentioned at the Geneva Motor Show last year.

Whatever the model is, this new car will once again restart the race for top speed and maybe push Hennessey to talk more about their Venom F5 which has been waiting under wraps since its initial release.

The Geneva Show begins March 3 with a press day and will cover a number of new releases from the motor industry. The Koenigsegg is high on our list of things to watch out for, so we’ll be waiting with bated breath.

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
