LEGO Brings Nissan GT-R Nismo to Championship series

Time to add another item to your wish list…

Lego has announced a new Speed Champions set, the Nissan GT-R Nismo. Add that to the current crop of speed champion sets such as the Ferrari F-40, the McLaren Senna, Mini Cooper, and the Dodge Demon. Additionally, LEGO sells the Technic kits that include the coveted Bugatti Chiron, and the Land Rover Defender, however the Defender is a kit that still has to come out next year.

Like the Defender set, the new Nismo GT-R will be available in 2020. And being part of the Speed Championship series it will be less technical and more kid-friendly to build, coming in at just under 300 total pieces, 298 to be exact.

“The Nissan GT-R and the LEGO brand are both renowned and loved by fans of all ages throughout the world, and we are honored to be the first-ever Japanese car manufacturer to partner with the LEGO Group,” Executive Officer and Vice President for Nissan, Asako Hoshino says.

The LEGO GT-R features details pulled directly from the real car. Such as a massive rear wing, the V-Motion grille, carbon fiber mimicking wheels as well as a red front splitter and side skirts. It is also finished in the same Motoul black and white livery directly off of the race car.

Currently the LEGO Nismo GT-R set doesn’t have a price, but if you’re truly interested in the car, Nissan will sell you a Nismo GT-R for the low-low price of $210,000. Complete with a 3.8L twin-turbo V6 providing 600 horsepower.
