Meet The 1:1 Scale Toyota Hilux RC Pickup Truck

I don’t know about anyone else, but to me, big toys are just cool. When I was a kid, I had a smaller Voltron action figure. My friend had a huge 2-3 foot one. That’s the one I coveted.

I like RC cars as much as the next guy, but if you gave me a choice between a 1:10 scale RC car or a full 1:1 sized one, there would be no contest. Full sized all the way.

Toyota must share my sentiments since they created a full sized RC version of a Toyota Hilux Tamiya Bruiser. The regular Tamiya Bruiser is a 1:10 scale RC car that will run you over $1,300 via their website.

Arctic Trucks, the same company that built the Top Gear Polar Special Hilux is responsible for this RC version. The 1:1 Bruiser features a turbo diesel inline 4 engine good for 148 HP, a six speed manual transmission, new Fox Shoe suspension, a new gear ratio in the rear diff, and 305/80 R17 BF Goodrich Mud-Terrain T/A tires.

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
