New Ford Mustang Reveal Date Released By Ford CEO
I recently wrote a full report on what we know about the upcoming 7th generation of Ford Mustang. And coincidentally enough, Ford CEO Jim Farley just has announced that the new Pony car will be revealed on September 14th at the Detroit Auto Show.
He tweeted the following:

The video that the caption accompanies tells us a little more about the car, confirming that it will be powered by a V8 if the audio is anything to go by. On top of this, there’s a manual transmission graphic in the centre of the ‘O’ of generation, insinuating that the marque will retain its manual gearbox in the Mustang supported by the hashtag, #savethemanuals’ in the tweet itself. And finally, the Mustang branding will not change.
We still don’t know a lot about what the new Mustang will look like, but we’re included spy shots and renders in our ‘What We Know‘ article which show the design will take on a more retro look, but will retain a lot of the same design language we’re used to.
We’re still expecting the Mustang to be released to the market in 2024 after going into production in 2023. This isn’t confirmed, but the timeline lines up.
If the rumours are true, the Mustang is likely to have some form of electrification. This will likely be in the form of a hybrid powertrain in a variant or two, potentially matched to an EcoBoost engine. We’ll see what happens, but either way, we’re quite excited.
