Nissan Reveals 2022 Nissan Patrol NISMO With 428 Horsepower And 5.6-Litre V8

The Patrol is kind of cool, right? I’d definitely use it as a daily alongside something a bit more exciting. But now, there may be no need for that as Nissan reveals the 2022 Patrol NISMO.

Known as the Armada in the US, this SUV has obviously been on steroids with an aggressive and muscled exterior over the standard car. 22-inch wheels sit at each corner of the car, and the front wields a red diffusor, with this accenting running down the side and finishing at the rear. The front grille has also been swapped out for a more intimidating honeycomb design, and a NISMO badge sits proudly beside the Nissan badge.

Under the hood is just as exciting, with a 5.6-litre V8 sending 428 horsepower and 413 lb-ft to the four wheels via a 7-speed auto ‘box. And to keep the body in check at full pelt, Nissan has pumped some performance into each corner via a set of Bilstein suspension.

Inside the car is fairly similar to the standard variant with two screens for infotainment, but now there’s some red stitching, red accenting on the seats, door cards and on the steering wheel, and there’s been a bit of carbon fibre thrown about. Overall, it doesn’t quite match up to its exterior, but the materials are nice and you’re treated to a 13-speaker Bose sound system. Of course, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, along with plenty more technology to keep you and your passengers safe (and it’s not behind a pay wall, cough, BMW).

The Japanese SUV is currently being sold in the Middle East. We’ll keep you updated as we know more.
