Simon Cowell To Launch Top Gear And Grand Tour Rival – Bring It On, Jeremy Clarkson

After the X-Factor was confirmed to be cancelled earlier this year, the man behind the show Simon Cowell os apparently wanting to launch a car show to compete with the likes of Top Gear and The Grand Tour. According to The Sun, a source of there’s explains that Simon is already “eyeing up” producers to take on the new challenge.

According to the source, the successful music businessman believes it to be a no-brainer after a “number of well-known car experts and racing drivers wanting to partner with him over the years.”

The source said the following:

“Simon has always been a huge car lover — and a car show is always something he has been interested in doing.

“He loves talking cars [and] right now there feels like an especially large appetite. The idea of a new car show is really a no-brainer for him.”

Since Jeremy Clarkson’s leaving from Top Gear in 2015, non-Amazon subscribers have been yearning for a new car show to erupt to take its place. Thankfully, the current version of Top Gear presented by Chris Harris, Freddy Flintoff, and Paddy McGuinness has seen great praise recently, and due to its success, has been moved to BBC1 over BBC2 – a first for the show.

Subscribers to Amazon have had the joy of watching The Grand Tour with the original 2003 Top Gear trio Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May. But with talks of the show’s demise next year, there certainly is space for another.

Simon is no stranger to producing a successful show, with the X-Factor lasting 17 years and producing some of the largest, most successful pop stars in the business such as Little Mix and One Direction. But viewing figures sagged, and eventually, the bosses at ITV pulled the plug.

Despite this, Simon is a keen petrol head owning a number of incredible vehicles himself such as a Bugatti Veyron, Eagle Speedster (one of Clarkson’s favourites), and a Lamborghini Gallardo.

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
