This 700HP Chevrolet Chevelle Restomod Is The Best You’ll See

Restomods are getting very popular these days with more and more enthusiasts wanting to bring classic cars into the modern world. There are simple changes you can make… add more power, upgrade the suspension with something more modern, add modern technology like touch screens or upgraded speakers. But when someone with a vision takes a classic car and restomods it, you get something quite special.

This 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle is owned by Matt, and was featured by Resto Mike from the RestoMods YouTube channel. It’s truly a brilliant looking car, and possibly one of the best Chevelle’s we’ve seen.

The Modifications

Looking at the outside of the car, it’s fairly obvious what’s been done to it. The trim has been painted over with gloss black, with some bits removed completely, including the side mirrors and rear trim. The billet grille at the front of the car is custom made, too, and stretches behind the headlights.

The Engine

Under the hood sits a small block 454 Chevrolet engine with a four and a quarter bore and four-inch stroke. The heads have been upgraded, as has the intake, and the manifold has been polished to reflect the beauty of the outside of the car. The owner of the car is hoping he can get some seat time at Sonoma Raceway, where he’ll be able to unleash each of the 700 horses the car has available to it.

That’s right, this isn’t just a show car made to look pretty, it’s a custom built car specifically for the track. It’s just a bonus that it looks fine as hell.

The Sound

While the V8 screams like we expect, the rear of the car houses two 12W6s and digital amps, resulting in a very premium sound system. Not quite what we expected from a car destined for the track, but the system is only small, and therefore doesn’t weigh a lot.

Alex Harrington

Alex started racing at a young age so certainly knows his way around a car and a track. He can just about put a sentence together too, which helps. He has a great interest in the latest models, but would throw all of his money at a rusty old French classic and a 300ZX. Contact: [email protected]
